To begin with, during the process of testing products on animals, many are abused and shoved into tight cages without the use of painkillers. According to PETA Kids, a rabbit was strapped into a device so that the workers would be able to drip chemicals into its eyes and onto its skin. Afterwards, “the experimenters [would] wait around and watch to see how long it [would] take for the chemicals to burn [its] eyes or skin. They leave the chemicals on [the rabbit] for up to two weeks and don’t give [it] any painkillers.” Abuse such as this proves that animal testing is inhumane and needs to be …show more content…
As technology evolves, there isn’t any need to test developing medicine and beauty products on animals. Currently, there is a method of micro-dosing that studies how a product works in humans through small doses. It is stated by PETA that “microdosing can replace certain tests on animals and help screen out drug compounds that won’t work in humans so that they won’t needlessly advance to government-required animal testing.” This is more efficient as products are directly given to people who volunteer to be tested on. This shows that studies on finding ways to safely test on humans are broadening and therefore we should no longer have to resort to testing on
