Over the past eight years, we have housed more than 3,000 abandoned and disabled dogs and cats. In order to provide those animals with more venues, we moved to the edge of the city where they live more comfortable. At the same time, we recruit a large number of caring volunteers to help us take care of animals, and find some volunteers who have a professional background in animal nursing to provide the regularly physical examination of our animals. Since we are a completely non-profit organization, almost all of our funds comes from corporate and individual funding; however, those monies can only meet the daily needs of our animals.…

Pet Drive You’ve heard commercials about animal shelters are non-profit organizations and usually are ran on small budget from the city along with donations from the public. Animal shelters need help with supplies to take care of animals, provide a warm and comfortable environment before the pets are adopted. Protecting Shelter Animals The book “One at a Time,” A true story about 74 animals who passed through an animal shelter on one week, ten of which died during this week, raises awareness of the horrors that many animal shelters around our communities deal with on a weekly basis. How did this happen? Why were these animals left there? To understand the lives of shelter animals, we need to look at the root cause for the overcrowding of shelters, what kind of measures shelters take when faced with overcrowding, and what the Humane Society, a strong advocate of No-Kill shelters, is doing to avoid other shelters from taking these measures.…

If you see a homeless person with an animal on the street, do you provide some type of donation, walk away and ignore them, or criticize that person for keeping an animal? Homelessness is the state of being without a home or lacking permanent housing. Homelessness is a worldwide problem that increased noticeably in the 1980s (“Grolier”). Many of these people own pets that they didn’t want to give up after becoming homeless. Even though it may seem like an irresponsible choice considering the situation they are in, these people are able to provide for their animals as much as a housed person could.…

Animal shelters need to realize that the best solution is to put reasonable laws on insufficient shelters and find multiple ways to raise money in order to have better facilities for animals to be able to actually live in. First off it is as simple as this: shelters are not suitable enough for animals. There are soaring temperatures that range from being really cold to really hot that animals cannot sustain. Another terrible factor is that animals have to also be put in cramped up spaces to sleep at night and sometimes to also spend the entire day (No-kill). Being in a cramped up space to sleep in is never fun and animals need to be able to stretch and play around.…
