The 2011 anti-bullying policy, the Matt Epling Safe School Law, required that every school district develop a policy to address bullying within the school. The law states that schools must ensure bullying is prohibited and have safeguards in place to protect against false reports, as well as the person doing the reporting. The policy must also have appropriate people identified to implement and monitor the procedures, as well as investigate and report (Matt Epling Safe School Law, 2011/2014). The law has very little reach beyond requiring a written policy. There is no requirement in the law for implementation of the policy or the extent to which the policy must be implemented.…

Bullying happens when children and adults use force to tease, torment, and embarrass the people they are targeting. Bullies will target their victims because they are smarter, or because the bully feels threatened by the others who are smarter. If there is someone who feels threatened by someone then they should talk to an adult about it, or deal with it in a peaceful way. Because it obviously isn’t a nice thing to do by harming people since there is a problem in your life. So you will be wondering, what should we do? As a child, don’t be a bystander and please help the victim and tell your teacher immediately about the incident. As for the adults, if you notice your child acting unusual, talk to them about the situation and not just let them be. If your child is the bully itself, teach them some empathy and tell them how they would feel in the situation where they are bullied; they will sure feel bad. Bullying has done enough, we must come together to stand against this.…

So just stand up for yourself but don’t fight with the bully because that what they want you to do, they want you to stand up and fight them and they will leave you alone, but more than likely if you just stand up for yourself they will leave you alone also. Bullying can lead to physical injury, social problems, emotional problems, and even death. Children and adolescents who are bullied are at increased risk for mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, severe headaches, and problems adjusting to school. Bullying also can cause long-term damage to self-esteem. So people should step up and tell an adult when they see bullying, they shouldn’t just stand around and let it go.…

Bullying strikes fear in those who choose not to help and power in those who do. Why I believe that young kids feel the need to bully is because either they don’t like to fight so that no one knows how scared they are or they just feel the need to intimidate those around them. Maybe bullying is going on is because those who are the bully are jealous of what the victim may have or want. It goes to show that being a bully just means that you will brings problems not only to the victim but also to yourself and bystanders around you. “Fighting means you could lose.…

A bully will often target those students because they will feel inferior or they are worried that they will maybe be overshadowed by the person’s abilities. Victims may even also have very little to no friends because they have been rejected by their peers and will usually spend most of their time alone and the bully will pick on this person because they want them to feel bad and make them feel like they have no place in the school and make them feel even more depressed than they already are. Another reason why a kid might want to bully someone is because they want attention from other people and reasons for that is that a parent might be neglecting them or maybe they can’t make friends the regular way, so they bully to get the attention that they want. One of the strangest reasons is that the bully itself doesn’t want to be bullied and so they will go to bullying other kids so it can never happen to them. No matter what if you have something that the bully doesn’t that the bully doesn’t have or that they wish they have so the bully will try everything in its power to destroy all of their confidence that the bully doesn’t have.…
