My artifact falls under the persuasion and informing categories. Elder Hansen writes to tell about important events that have happened to him. The main purpose of his letters is to inform his family and friends of his mission and how his life has changed while he is in the field. Another aspect of informing is to provide information that will help others make a decision about something. I think the experiences that Elder Hansen writes about will provide information for people who are still trying to decide whether to serve a mission or not. People will have a feel for what the missionary life is like and can decide if that is what they want to do or not.
