Persuasion Using Language Techniques

Using language to convince is a given in the Smith household. Persuasion is used their every day whether it be convincing someone to do a task as simple as taking out the trash or as complex as buying a puppy. The first example of this involves my father during a brief commercial break of America’s Got Talent. As we highly anticipated the return of one of our favorite shows, an advertisement for Dairy Queen appeared on the screen. It notified us that a percentage of the proceeds for the day would be going to Riley Children’s Hospital. Being that I am a lover of ice cream, I could not pass up a perfect opportunity with such a perfect reason.
