RETAILING-
Retaling is the activities involved in selling goods or services directly to the final consumers for their personal or non business uses.
Introduction : the retail sector of india has been facing a tremendous growth and changing demographics and an increase in the living standard of people. This sector has become one of the most booming sector in india. With the growth in the economy, spread of awareness among the consumer, increase in income and heavy customer base , india is becoming one of the most prospective market for the global and domestic retailers.

2) Organized retailing- it is the traditional format of low cost retailing like owner managed general stores, paan or beedi shops, convenience stores local shops, hand cart and pavement vendors.
In developed countries there are more number of organized retail ranging from 75 to 80 percent of the total retail outlet whereas in developing countries like india there are more number of unorganized retail

Whereas for developing countries such retail outlet has just started spreading for the developing countries in the recent years.

Types of retailing in India :
Single brands- it says that the foreign company will be allowed to sell the goods sold internationally under a single brand like reebok, nokia and adidass . foreign direct investment of single brand implied that a retail store with foreign investment can sell one brand only. Let us take for example if foreign company adidas was supposed to take permission to open its retail outlet In India then those retail outlet can sell it product only under adidas and not under reebok brand for which they have to take a separate permission. Multi brands – it implied that a retail store with foreign investment can sell their multiple brand but it has to be under one roof.
In order to approve the single brand and multi brand the investment made by them should be at the interest of our country. It should help in improving and developing the Indian infrastructure.
