Is repeated at the end of the poem.This is repetition with in the poem. Repetition is good for a poem . Well to me it is. Repetition is where you repeat something with in the poem . The author could’ve put more repetition in this poem to make it a little more interesting .He repeated what he wrote at the end because he started the story over again.In the poem the woman shot and killed herself and the robber or the Highwayman got shot by the red coats. So their story was told as them being ghost . That's why he used repetition.
In the three body paragraphs i told you about similes,metaphors,and repetition .The author also had personification in his poem . Personification is where like a animal talks or something like that. In the highwayman the robber fell in love with the landlord's black hair daughter.He was off to steal some gold then come back to her. But in the end they both met on the other side.
