I surveyed eleven people (eight females and three males) who were between the ages of 16 and 18. Six females would rather have someone with normal looks and a great personality, one female would rather have someone with model looks and a boring personality, and one female choose other. All three males would rather have someone with normal looks but a great personality. The results show that (in the pool of people under the age of 18) men and women care more about personality. While conduction the survey, the participants talked about how there are more factors (when it comes to attraction and relationships) than personality and looks. They talked about how people care about money, social status, and other superficial conditions. I realized that they were right, what causes attraction is more than who someone is on the inside (and what they look like on the outside), it is what they represent in society and the choice if we want to be represented with them. For example, a woman sees an attractive man but he has a criminal record. Then she meets another man who is normal looking but is the manager of a known popular mall and he makes a comfortable amount of money. Now, I know that I did not see the whole picture. There are thousands of ways that attraction develops and relationships form. Relationships are built off of looks (sometimes) and personality (sometimes), it just depends on what a person values most.
