Four Concepts Of Personality

Personality a complex subject on how we view our selfies which can be described as our feelings, the way we act, and what we think. From a psychologist view there are four different perspectives with conflicting and similar views on what it is. With these competing perspectives individuals can have their own view of personality. The three major concepts for me is the self, external environment, and our abilities. The concept of one’s self is being able to know who you are and your personality. Being able to strive for a fulfilling life would be a lot harder without being able to know what you really want and are capable of doing. For me I love to play soccer however I am not a good enough player and don’t very much like the work but by knowing myself and what I can actual do and do it right I can find my purpose in life. The concept of our self’s is about the humanistic perspective in that it seek to use what we know about ourselves to find what will make life to us satisfied. One of the theories from this point of view by Maslow and Rogers (1961) is that human strive for fulfillment. To do this you first develop your self-concept which is based on what were told and learned from people who are important to us. Are abilities describe us in how we think, act and feel. Which is what the traits theory is a description of our personality by the use of our traits. The soundings of us in the past and peasant make our future which is described as a behaviorist and social cognitive perspective in which we have learn from others and the environment.
