To classify, categorize and to type are all ways to identify common characteristics of a person. The common characteristic which will be focused on throughout this paper is personality. Personality is characterized by the emotional and behavioral traits that a person displays. A person’s personality shapes the type of leader he or she will become. Therefore, taking a personality test such as the Truity will allow one to discover the strengths and weaknesses of a leader, what some people appreciate and find annoying, the various areas of versatility and what aspects of a person’s personality people tend to trust.

Katharine Briggs role in the creation of the MBTI focused on her daughters’ marriage and if her mate was right for her. So, when Isabel Briggs married Clarence Myers Katharine felt inspired to understand her daughters’ mate even more and why he viewed the world so differently than her family. Isabel’s role took on a slightly different approach. Isabel wanted to find a way to turn the information into a practical application. Combining the desire to understand one’s self and or another with the ability to physically generate questionnaire answers made the MBTI one of a kind. When it comes to an introvert leader their focus is their strength when leading. Introverts prefer to spend their creative time thinking, reading, or writing in solitude rather than bouncing ideas off each other in groups, introverts naturally spend much more time involved in introspection and preparation (2017). Studies find that people who spend the bulk of their time practicing a skill in solitude become masters of that skill much more quickly and effectively than people who practice in groups.
Which brings up the weakness aspect when it comes to being an introverted leader. One area which may cause a problem is face to face interaction. Face to face interaction maybe difficult for an introvert leader as being alone allows more focus. For most introverts overstimulation is a distraction and their reactions are driven but not limited to social stimulation. Face to face interaction and overstimulated social settings increase an introverts to draw away from others and to not take on the energy of the environment. The end result will cause an introvert leader to shut done and find an alternative approach when it comes to face to face and social
