When I asked Rihanna, she said she knew who she was in high school but she did have issues fitting in. Since she came from another country, she had to adapt to the culture over here, people spoke and behaved differently here rather than back home. She had to behave like them to fit in. She changed herself from time and time to figure out herself. Eventually, she did come to a point where she understood herself and was accepted by all friends. From Rihanna’s perspective, the fact that she was very sociable helped a lot. She initiated conversations with many people, got to know them, and was accepted happily after some time. I agree with Erickson’s theory, there are some people who know who they are while others try to figure out who they are and how they fit in. After taking the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II Personality Quiz and the Myers-Briggs Personality Quiz there were a few things I learned. According to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II Personality Instrument Quiz there are a lot of people similar to me which are categorized as Guardians. People have always felt the need to conform to what society approves of. Even though it's good to conform sometimes in order to stay out of trouble, it's also bad to an extent because sometimes people change themselves completely. Usually it's not even because they want to, it's to “fit in”. Everybody should be their own person and be as unique as they wish to be without having to worry about how they’re different to what society expects.…

Everyone has an aspiration to fit in, but it is not worth giving up one's individuality. In Ray Bradbury’s story, “All Summer in a Day”, he tells of children that end up giving up their individual morals, and then regret it. Similarly, in the writings of “Ponies” and “Harrison Bergeron”, the writers KIJ Johnson and Kurt Vonnegut Jr. speak of characters who want to fit in, but end up giving up their uniqueness to do so. They end up feeling remorse about trying to fit in. Fitting in can have a negative effect- causing someone to lose what’s different about them.…

After searching through numerous pictures between the years of 2000 and 2003, I can conclude that my personality has not changed much since then. My parents always told me that I was a character because I would always be cracking jokes or I would be smiling and it would spread to everyone around me. To this day, I consider myself an optimistic individual. I like to see the good in everyone and every situation that I encounter. This was definitely easier when I was younger and the only person who I thought was mean was the principal at my elementary school.…
