Summary of the Person’s Life Experience
Born in around 1930, Warren Edward Buffett is regarded as world’s most successful investor (Blair, 2004). His birthplace is Omaha, Nebraska. Buffett was the second-born and the only son of Congressman Howard Buffett, who had three children. Buffett first attended Rose Hill Elementary School, but in 1942, his father relocated to Washington D.C, after being elected into the US Congress. While in Washington DC, Buffet completed his elementary education and got enrolled in Alice Deal Junior High School. Under perfect conditions, everyone is capable of developing in his or her full potential that was hereditary obtainable. With similar views, Abraham Maslow, often regarded as the leader of humanistic approaches, studied personality by approaching it through subjective experiences and inherent motivation towards self-actualization in an individual’s entire lifespan. Maslow explained the human needs and how they influenced personality development. There are several widely used methods involved in personality assessment and controversies involving them. These personality assessment methods that would be used include interviews, personality inventories, self-reports, and rating scales (Ellis, Abrams & Abrams, 2009). The reasons for using these methods of personality assessment are based on their underlying assumptions, reliability (consistency) and validity. The interviews are used because it includes verbal and gestural elements pertinent to signaling of personality of a person being interviewed, while rating scales is a versatile technique. Self-report test is a convenient method of personality assessment in a more reliable and numerical measures. The information gathered through interviews includes attitudes, behaviors, fears, and expectations. The questions to be asked to the interviewer involve aptitude test. Rating scales provide an individual with scalar dimensions and depending on the situation, it may collect information such as the degree of creativity, shyness, leadership qualities, social skills, trustworthiness, and friendliness. The self-report tool uses true or false to gather information on individual’s personality attributes, including anxiety. For instance, anxious people behave in a different manner when compared
