Five Factor Theory Of Personality Development

This study emphasizes on the predictions about change in mean levels of personality traits in adulthood. The five-factor theory says that after the age of 30, no change is possible in personality. This is known as hard plaster hypothesis. Similarly the soft hypothesis says that some change is possible after 30. To discuss this hypothesis, this article reports a huge research that was conducted on a large group of people with almost 140000 adults being a part of that group with ages between 21-60.
