Personal Worldview Essay Examples

I have always been told that my perspective is extraordinary. I think because no matter the topic I consider both sides. With that, sides might cross somewhere makings ten times harder than it should be. I like to think of my worldview the same. A worldview is the set of lenses in which you see the world around you. There is not a lot of things I believe to be true. My faith and opinion have always been something I understand to change and mature over the years. I grew up in the church so there are certain morals that are embedded in me from a young age. My mother also raised me to seek after knowledge so the church beliefs aren’t the only one I rely on.
What is real?
Reality is the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. Most people’s reality depends on how they were raised. (Psalm 51:5) When raising a toddler, it already is doing things like spitting and speaking out in a rude way, but not intentional. I believe we are born evil and learn to be good and take in the actions through our culture and surroundings. We are born sinners. If we entered the world good there would be no use for Jesus to have died on a cross and forgive our sins. There is a fight for goodness throughout your whole life; to make the right grades, go to the right college, marry the right person. Those “rights” wouldn’t be something to strive towards if you already have it. The other part of right and wrong is something that can't be explained completely; our intuition. That gut feeling to do something because you know it is right or wrong is a still voice that we need to trust. I believe that still voice is God.
