Personal Wellness Assessment

The results of my Rinehart Institute Wellness Assessment prove to be positive. My answers all seem to gather around the three and four range. My strongest area, in which I scored the highest, was Physical – Risk Prevention with a subtotal of 4.61. This makes the most sense to me. When looking back at the questions the majority of my answers included that I was always free from any harmful drugs and bad drinking habits. I have always felt that drugs and excessive drinking have many cons and very few pros. I am glad that I have not stumbled down that wrong path and have devoted my time to focus on my relationships as well as my academics. My Spiritual Average of 4.32 was my second best area. I know my values, I am grateful for my life, and I …show more content…
When I reviewed the questions I was asked, I understood better. In the area Physical – Moving/Exercise I scored 3.42. In Physical – Nutrition, my subtotal was 3.32. For these questions about my personal body, health, and diet I answered lower. With questions like, “My diet is low in sodium or salt” or “My diet is rich in B complex vitamins,” I have never really been conscious about those types of things. To create a healthier lifestyle, which I am striving to work towards, these questions can definitely help direct me to what I need in my diet. My area where I scored the worst, was Local to Global – Earth Environment. I scored a 3.0. This area, that discusses recycling, energy efficiency, pollution, and conserving water, is something that I do not have set as a priority. All of these, though, should be a priority in my life. I should care about what my habits are affecting this planet. I should pay attention to what my thermostat is set to in the summer and winter, and wear a sweater when needed. I should take note to whether I can purchase appliances that are energy efficient or …show more content…
The questions regarding recycling made me open my eyes as to how little I recycle now that I am living on my own. The only items I recycle are returnable bottles. Now that I am more aware of this, I can easily change my habits and recycle cardboard, paper, and plastics. I learned that I scored highly on this assessment when comparing myself to other students my age. Actually, looking at the bar graph, I scored higher compared to all the other demographics. This really surprised me. I felt as though I answered the questions honestly; I would be interested in knowing which questions students answered “0–Never, 1–Seldom, or 2-Sometimes” and why they didn’t choose to rate them higher.
From this course I hope to gain the knowledge of what holistics is and have a clear sense of the values and practices that it entails. Before signing up for this course, I would have not been able to explain what holistics is. Even just after a couple of weeks I have gained a lot of insight. This course will be helpful for me because I have been wanting to make healthier choices in my everyday life, and this course nudges me to do

The Rinehart Institute’s Wellness Assessment was a compelling survey with interesting results. The results from taking the assessment were mind-boggling as I did not expect some of the results to occur the way they did. In particular, my financial average is surprisingly low and money is something I truly love. But some of the results are beneficial to me and beneficial to the people I associate with. For example, my relationship average is a 4.24 which means I am an outgoing person who can keep amazing relationships with people.…

INTRODUCTION The importance of spirituality in recovery from addiction has been proven through the use of 12 Step programs of recovery (and from now on may be referred to as self help groups).
