Since I am now able to vote in this year’s presidential election, my political views have become more serious and I have taken more of my own stance. Since I have begun to develop my own political views and stances since I am now able to vote, I would also consider myself not only socially moderate but also politically. Due to the requirements of this paper, I went online and took and online quiz from “Quizony” called “Are You a Democrat or Republican?” I had to answer 29 scrambled questions about issues in society today and how what I thought was the best way to fix them. I am aware that this is not an academic study that I took, but the results I received I feel describe my political views spot on. The quiz came back with the results that I am 60% Democrat and 40% Republican with the explanation, “You may be mostly liberal, but a large part of you still believes that government should be limited and that individual freedoms are just as important as social responsibility. Socially, I feel I fall into a more liberal stance. I believe there is global warming and things should be done to prevent further harm to the world, and I also believe that same-sex marriage should be allowed because you love who you love. As for the gun debate, I do not believe people should not be allowed to own guns, but I do believe that there needs to be way more background screening done when people are trying to buy guns or a lot of ammunition. I do not believe that it is right for anyone to be allowed to own a gun or have access to them and there need to be stricter gun laws to prevent all of the mass shootings and tragedies this country has seen over the last ten
