Introduction
During my studies of the human development program I have learned many things. Some of the things I have learned is how people develop, things that impact or influence development and how people can be challenged by some of those impacts. Throughout the human development course I have learned some of the theories in which people develop. I have also learned as a student seeking to enter into the social science field, the theories of counseling that resonate with me and techniques to utilize within that theory. My capstone project is an integration of this information, the theories that resonate with me most and how these theories will guide my in the social science field.
Personal view of human development
People develop in many ways and learn from many sources throughout their lifetime. Development describes the evolution of people throughout the span of a lifetime, from conception to death. Development does not just encompass the biological and physical aspects of growth, it also considers the cognitive and social aspects associated with development throughout life. By developing a clearer understanding of how and why people change and grow, we can then use this knowledge to help people live up to their full potential.
