In the presented case scenario, the author, acting as the primary nurse, would work in order to satisfy the wishes of the client. Therefore, the results of the bone scan would not be shared with the patient’s wife since he denied the permission to proceed in this task. It is also important to mention that the information regarding a patient’s health status should only be shared with third parties with the strict consideration of the patient. Moreover, there are regulations and laws aimed to avoid the disclosure of this type of information such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which ensures the protection and privacy of the personal health information of the client (Friberg & Creasia, 2016). Although, it is possible that the decision of sharing this information might not be supported by the health care staff, it is necessary to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for the patient to feel listened. Thus, any source of discrimination, judgment, or action that could make the patient feel not respected is
