Personal Therapy Benefits

In this society, we all need help with life in some way. We can’t always do it on our own. I believe when having a certain disorder causes problems in a person’s life that’s when they need the help the most. Treatment for a psychological disorder depends on the disorder. Focusing on a few psychological disorders such as anxiety, childhood, and personality disorders may vary between receiving treatment through group therapy and individual therapy. First, anxiety disorders could be shared in a group or individually. It also does depend on the anxiety. For example, phobias can be shared within a group or individually but I believe that gaining help through personal therapy sessions will be more beneficial because it singles out the individual and helps them personally get over it instead of having multiple people being afraid of so many different phobias and …show more content…
With each disorder, it takes time to get over the problem with treatment. There are a lot of personality disorders but there are a few that stick out that I believe would be needed for treatment such as narcissistic P.D because they lack empathy so I would think they would be hard on people and have no feelings, borderline P.D because they are the people who are more likely to commit suicide, and paranoid personalities because they are cautious of many things. Within each of the previous personality disorders, the individual should be first given the opportunity to talk things out for treatment. I think if treatment progresses, the individual should be able to go to a group therapy to share their experience and progress. If I had a personality disorder like dependent P.D I think in order for me to have good treatment I’d need the one on one with the therapist. There could also be a series of personal things that I should have to separate myself from. Isolation should be one of the tasks done to get back on
