The question that I must answer deals with who I am and where do my ideas come from. I am a twenty-two year old African-American female named Marlene Denise Ware, and I consider my family experiences important as to our health and well-being. My family is not perfect and my family origin and chosen relationships with reference to culture are a healthy functional family. We learn how tolerate each other, and I complain because of how someone in my family might be handling a situation and have quite a few negative dynamics and some positive strengths about them. I have read that exploring your own family origin should be with a trained person such as a family therapist because they can provide insight. Understanding myself and my world view, will help me improve my learning process and become a well- rounded person. My view consist of me being a responsible student, respectful, determined and dedicated, thoughtful, patient, motivated, appreciative, fair, forgiving, observant and thoughtful person. By being a responsible student lets my teachers know that I can manage my tasks. For me being a respectful person is important because you can go a long way in life by being respectful to others. Determination and dedication empowers me with motivation to get the task done and no matter what obstacles are in the way they will not last always. Showing that I am observant and thoughtful I observe people and/or situations while forming a thought about how the situation change can or what can I do to help better this person and/or their situation. While being observant and thoughtful I notice things while carefully considering things. Having patience and faith provide me with control. The fairness in me understands that sometimes there should be a second chance and not to be a judgmental person. I am appreciative of everything that everybody does for me I do not take it for granted. I feel as if being judgmental maybe a way of discrimination. Everyone wants to be respected and in order to receive respect one must give respect. By being a respectful person I can interact with others on a professional level. When you behave appropriately you will have respect and trust from others. If I lacked appropriate social skills I will not have a positive impression towards others.
