In society today, pharmacy is an interesting field that is rapidly advancing. A “Pharm-D” degree grants access to numerous possibilities in the pharmaceutical field. I am certain that obtaining a doctorate of pharmacy will reveal many opportunities for me in the future. Yet, I believe that one must have clear goals, determination and motivation to successfully achieve a career in pharmacy.
My personal interest in pharmacy began when I was in high school, specifically when I spoke to a pharmacist in a hospital. I was visiting an ill family member when a pharmacist and I engaged in a conversation about his career. I was encouraged by his knowledge in the pharmaceutical field. He shared some personal experiences that inspired me to help people toward their path to a healthier life. After our conversation, I desired to become a pharmacist.
When I decided that I wanted to begin my journey in the pharmacy field, I reached out to the pharmacists in my family. My aunt and uncle are both pharmacists and they continuously inspire me to pursue a career in

Becoming a certified pharmacy technician has taught me skills that will be useful in my future as a pharmacist. Working at a pharmacy has improved my communication with customers. I believe clear communication is a required skill to work in a pharmacy so that there are no discrepancies. Along with communication, it is important to be able to handle stressful situations in a positive manner. I have acquired these skills by participating in extensive training with a pharmacist. Working with a pharmacist has taught me that the main goal is to safely provide patients with the medication they need in a timely manner.
