Personal Statement: Why I Am Attending College

about me and why I am going to college
Why I am attending college. Im attending college partly because my parents are making me come and the other part is that I need to make sure that I can live by myself and that includes having my own job and not relying on everyone that I know.
I have chosen ECTC because it was in my price range. All of the other schools that I would be wanting to attend would make me take that same classes that I am taking now so what would be the point in taking out huge loans that I cannot pay back yet. I am the first Hively to ever attend college. So far I am proud of myself for going this far in college even the none of my family has gone. One of the other exspectations that I had was that there was going to be a lot of nice people. So far that has been true, I have met so many people that have been helping me since I have been here and it has been amazing.
One of my long range goals is gating my degree. Unlike that rest of my family I will have my degree and will be able to go anywhere I want to with it. When in cooking school they are always talking about the food in other countries and I would love to go and try there food and there cooking techniques and I would love to try them.
What a college education means to me is that I would have completed that hardest thing in life. It also means that I would be able to show to everyone that said I was not going to make it that I had made it and that I am succeeding at what I am doing. What a college education will bring me is happiness. It will give me the opportunity to work and do the things that I love.
While I am in college would like to be able to have my grades above a c average. I would also like to make friends. I moved here from another state and do not know any one. I would also like to be able to do some sports that I did in high school here at Elizabethtown community and technical
