In my classroom, I want every child to feel that they are welcome. I want to provide a classroom where children can not only learn from me, but from each other. I want them to be able to come to me when there are sorrows in their lives, but also when there are triumphs. I want my students to see themselves in the lessons I teach and take them beyond the classroom. I want my students to know that they are smart. I want them to know that they can do anything that they put their minds to. I want to foster an environment where my students can take an active role in their learning and allow them to have some impute in what we are learning. I want them to see that the standardized tests and other measurements given by the state does not define
