Personal Statement: Wellbeing Conditions

Decent Essays
My dream has always been to join the airforce yet because of wellbeing conditions, I needed to changes my field. It has always been a joy to me seeing aviators in their uniform and watching aircraft take off. I am learning a great deal about logistics every day which amuses me. I know precisely the sentiment being far away from your children I am likewise attempting to embrace that conduct because of the frenzied development in the military which still hasn't been effective all through my tenure in the military. I've never stationed in Germany and I would love to know how was your experience there? My sibling is stationed there and he's enjoying his experience there. Welcome to the class and I truly trust I can gain some new useful knowledge

Well-Being Assessment Task 1. Explain why GDP/capita is thought to be a suitable measure for comparing human well-being across countries. GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product which means, "the total value of goods produced, and services provided in a country during one year". GDP per capita is a suitable measure for comparing human well-being across countries because the GDP indicates the society's standard of living. The higher the GDP the higher society's overall well-being will be.…

My pursuit of a medical degree is greatly strengthened by the Columbia University Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP). Prior to matriculation from the program my source of motivation held no true direction, I wanted to simply “help people”. During SPHSP I was exposed to federally qualified health centers (FQHC) and my eyes were opened to new medium to help people. I admired the measures that FQHC put in place to effectively serve a population of people that, under normal circumstances, would not be able pursue healthcare. FQHCs aligned closely to the sense of equity that I began to develop as I was exposed to communities suffering from health disparities over the course of the internship.…

“Who am I? What I am doing with my life?” Many of us began asking these questions ourselves in the late stages of high school. The transition between childhood and full adulthood is a critical developmental period that must be completed to become ready to assume the major roles we play in society, typically after a period of “emerging adulthood”. (Larson, Wilson, Brown, Furstenberg, & Verma, 2002) (Arnett, 2000).…

I am a hard-working individual with a passion to pursue a career in primary school teaching. I feel I have the qualities required to be successful in my chosen course as I am a happy, creative and patient person. In order to succeed within this profession it is vital to be interested in the learning process of childhood education which is a trait I have. I began to realise a teaching profession was the route I wanted to go down during my A-level studies as I was studying health and social care and one module was based on the development of children and through this I developed a understanding in the importance of the education system for children and felt it was a extremely rewarding career choice. From this new found interest in this career…

An employed owes its employees a ‘duty or care’. Everyone in work has a duty to safeguard and nurture personal wellbeing at work. From an organizational management angle, wellbeing is a major factor in quality, performance, productivity and therefore business effectiveness and profit. Where a person's wellbeing reduces, so typically does his or her performance and effectiveness. It is important to me as a manager to keep an eye of people individually.…

Psychological wellbeing as a concept is notoriously subjective in its definition. In its simplest form, wellbeing can be defined as an individual being satisfied and positive towards themselves, thus functioning at the best level possible (Ryff, 1989). This might entail maintaining positive relationships, remaining employed, and having generally good mental health. That is to say that experiencing regular feelings of depression or anxiety is a demonstration of poor psychological wellbeing. Social media refers to websites hosting large networks of individuals, allowing the sharing of media, and interaction with other users (Ghaznavi & Taylor, 2015).…

Being a clinician is a way of life: a life that puts the needs of others before yourself; a dynamic life; a life which brings an individual face to face with the realities of this world, bringing them to the forefront of understanding and using that to guide their judgements. This is the sort of life I want to lead. Being able to apply the knowledge and skills that I have acquired and then seeing its effect, especially with regards to the wellbeing of others, is something that I find joy in. I began volunteering at my high school’s science club for year seven’s in which I was able to share and help the communication of science through a combination of discussions and lab work. Following this was almost a year volunteering at Trafford General Hospital, providing a trolley service.…

It was Albert Einstein who said that the only way to live life was as though everything is a miracle. It is a miracle that I am able to walk from my bed and see the sunlight through my window. What is Subjective Well-Being? Psychologists have been studying subjective well-being (SWB) for decades, but mostly in developed countries, especially the United States. However, there is little information of SWB in developing countries, especially Sub-Saharan Africa. There is an increasing studies showing that that material goods do not necessarily increase or cause happiness. A study conducted from Brickman, Coates and Janoff-Bulman (1978) shows that lottery winners were not significantly happier than the control group (sample that lived approximately in the same area of the city as the lottery winners) and it showed that increase in income did not cause a change in the happiness of lottery winners.…

Like every child, I went through the ubiquitous “why” stage where I posed this question even to the smallest, most mundane events of life. Filled with genuine curiosity and fascination, I desired to understand the ornate workings of the world. Unlike the majority of children, however, I did not lose this fervor and drive to find answers. This inquisitiveness laid the foundation for my interest in research work. Growing up, my family placed a tremendous emphasis on health, fitness, and nutrition.…
