Goal Statement
My goal is to create a specific fitness routine that I can follow every week and make it into a habit and part of my life style. I would also like to lose ten pounds over the next six weeks, or at least turn that fat into muscle. Part of my goal is to start walking and jogging at least two times a week for a total of about three hours per a week. I am also going to include a weight lifting portion where I do resistance training at least once a week. I already eat pretty healthy but I would like be more active and create a well balanced healthy lifestyle that will be sustainable for a long time to come.

After losing my job I was very stressed out and unhappy. This has given me the motivation and opportunity to get back in shape and relieve my stress in the most positive ways possible. Losing my job was probably for the best thing for me seeing as the job disrupted my circadian rhythm, allowed me to get no exercise and it demanded that I sit stationary at a desk for eight hours a day. I used to listen to a lot of podcasts at work and now I look forward to working out so that I can listen to those same podcast that I love so much.
When I am working out my body naturally wants me to eat more often and more healthy. Instead of one large meal a day I eat smaller snacks to maintain my blood sugar levels and give me a steady supply of energy throughout the day. In addition, when being active my body naturally wants to eat healthier. Do you ever crave a crappy McDonald’s hamburger after working out? Not I, my body tells me I want broccoli, rice and a nice piece of steak; or asparagus, mashed potatoes and chicken. My diet has changed dramatically (for the positive) since losing my job and starting this program. I usually make a smoothie in the morning, mixed frozen fruit, water or juice and some flax seed oil; or bananas, brown sugar and soy milk with a little vanilla and cinnamon (Mmm Mmm, it is better than a milk shake!), then a light lunch and a healthy

When trying to lose weight or become healthier, we often think we need to kill ourselves in the gym in order to see results. Being active, and working out is only 20% of the battle. My Struggle with Weight and Body Image Although I have always been considered small, my weight has always fluctuated beyond what is considered to be in the normal range of 1 to 2 pounds. The heaviest I have ever been is 123 pounds and I hit that as a freshman in college, unlike most individuals, I was my second heaviest as a freshman in high school. As a three sport athlete I ate whatever I wanted thinking that I could burn it off on the field and being bigger, muscle-wise was better. At the time food was more important that what I looked like and I felt stronger weighing on the higher end of the 110s than the lower end, and accepted the extra body fat that came with my diet and muscle. At some point as a sophomore I started to care more…

For the Nutrition tracker, I decided to use the website My Fitness Pal. I used this site because I have already been using it to track my consumption for the last few weeks as I try to increase my overall health. In my opinion, my diet this week was very disappointing with respect to my diet goals. My diet was severely lacking with respect to its completeness. For the most part I had no real fruits or vegetables, the only consumption of those food groups came as a topping on my burger or other main entrees.…

In the locker room are Dan and Jason. I say hello and continue on to my locker. More people come in and everyone starts talking about how bad their day was. It's almost a daily contest to see who can have bragging rights for having the worst day, perhaps they want sympathy or maybe they just like to complain a lot. I find it humorous that a bunch of guys who come in every day to train and beat on each other can complain so much, so I laugh at them and leave the locker room.…
