Personal Statement For years I have been hearing my family speak about how education is the only thing that they could provide for me without the fear of anyone taking it away. I was the first to attend a traditional university, and I had a certain amount of pressure on myself. Over my years as a student and as an educator, my interest in literature has grown exponentially. However, in my country, reading is not really that valued by people, leaving leisure time to be occupied by television or the internet. You described a self-directed learner elaborately so it seemed you missed out on reading about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.…

I found these self-assessments interesting; some things I already new about myself while others I really didn’t consider or realize that I need to improve on. This assessment was based off of my time working at Michaels Arts and Crafts and my time going to the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) and I overall found possible solutions for problems. When going through the 21st Century section it gave an idea of what I am ready for in the workplace and what might need improvement. Some of these improvements would be my math skills and communicating effectively in writing. For the most part I get my writing down fine, however I feel sometimes I may rush through writing an email or essay specifically at school and accidentally make a…
