I love sports. I have always been an active athlete wherever I am, whether it be (CHANGE TO IS) for my city or for school. Every Saturday, I would wake up to watch the English Premier League on TV. I would watch the physiotherapists

I know firsthand because whenever I feel like I am improving with my training, I strain or pull my hamstring and it keeps me out for a while. While I’m out rehabbing, I lose confidence. It is never a good sign for an athlete to lose confidence in his or her ability because it hinders performance in their sports and sometimes in their life. It takes a strong minded person to avoid the loss of confidence. As a student athlete, I made the choice to enter the field of health as a career to help other athletes regain the confidence they have lost and to help them comeback stronger. Like all children all I ever wanted was to be big and do big people things. I engaged in a few family members that I would look up to and try everything they did. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

My sunburn lines between my shorts and socks symbolized the restless, tiring hours spent out on the field. Every Tuesday and Thursday, for two and a half hours, the sun scorched my body while my legs would scrape into the ground. The cluster consisted of the seniors’ looming bodies that would go shoulder to shoulder against my own freshman self as our feet would battle for control. While this exhaustion enthralled and encouraged my game, the sprints, planks, runs, and more caused me to dread going to that grassy field every week. The humidity produced heavy, useless pants from my lungs as my throat would feel as if it was closing in from a claustrophobic nightmare.…
