The Importance Of My Conflict

My conflict is centered around my brother’s fiancee whom I shall call Princess. Princess and my brother have been together for three and a half years. In 2015, Princess started acting differently towards me. She has a personality that is forever bubbly and upbeat, so when I started to notice an icy chill coming from her I started to question what I had done wrong. At first, I tried speaking to her directly in person, texting her, and even messaging her on facebook. There was rarely a response, and if I did receive one it was a short, simple reply or just one word answers.

Whenever we went out to dinner or just ran errands together the tension and awkwardness was palpable. I had been trying to bridge the gap between us for the sake of my brother because this conflict was taking its toll on him. The straw that broke the camel’s back in this god awful scenario was the day I was having was a total mess and I was in a terrible mood, and had a migraine. My mum was late picking me up from school because her and my brother picked up Princess from her school in Colton and neglected to tell me this until I called to find out where they were.

During the lunch Princess kept making passive aggressive comments about her day and finally she made one towards me saying “she never talks to me, so I don’t see why I bother trying anymore,” that set me off and I went out of character and directly told her in a very pissed off “ that I never speak because she always spoke over me and whenever I am talking to my mum or my brother she has to butt in or take over so the focus is back on her.” To say this did not go over with her or my brother was a great understatement. The lunch was finished in a very tense and awkward silence as Princess pouted and brooded over this, and I was stewing in all of my pent up anger toward her and my
