I have always been applying this rule into my life and it is the main reason why I love volunteering. This rule plus my love in photography, I have volunteered in many charity events, hosted by the Foundation for Disabled Children in Vietnam, as the event photographer to bring awareness to many people. In Junior ROTC, I learned many different ways to not only help myself but to also help others. I have seen that many young adults in this generation and country believe that it is “too hard” to go help others. Whether or not the service is small, picking up trash for example, or something large, something should be done and you should get involved. Getting involved with the community and the people around you because in the JROTC mission statement you are basically trying to help others and yourself become a better citizen.…

At a young age, my mother placed me in an Armenian scouting organization listen under Boy Scouts of America. I dreaded wasting my Sundays to be lectured about Armenian history and making crafts. I opened my eyes to the actuality that this was a potential opportunity for me. No one knew my story; nothing was expected of me. Overtime, I formed friendships and bonds with my fellow brothers and sisters which helped me grow into the person I am today.…

I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, self study Dutch as a hobby, have an immense interest in social justice and great satisfaction in seeing people grow and thrive. I truly take pleasure in working directly with people of diverse cultural, linguistic and social backgrounds. I have been unemployed for two and a half years and before that I worked for almost 10 years for a retail company. I learned extensively in many areas of retail, marketing and customer service and truly enjoyed the people I worked with and for, but I must admit, I always felt far removed from my passion, perhaps even a sense of obligation, of actually contributing meaningfully to society.…

Though volunteering opportunities vary immensely, it exposes people to see the realities of the world outside of their daily routines. For one thing, a volunteer distinguishes how their life differs compared to someone else’s when they help others. Individuals who participate in community service then learn to have gratitude and respect for the things they have in their lives. More importantly, the time spent helping someone or their family can directly change their life. When people do perform good deeds the feelings associated with it fuels their passion and desire to do more.…

I chose these locations because I am studying to be a teacher and like working with children. If I had to choose only one activity to continue doing, then I would choose to continue volunteering at Sights and Sounds of Christmas. I would choose to continue volunteering at Sights and Sounds of Christmas for several reasons, one of them being because it is a local event that unifies and brings a lot of joy to my town during the holidays for one weekend Another reason for choosing this is that I always volunteer at the Santa Photobooth which is one of the biggest parts of Sights and Sounds. I say this because it is where families go to bring their children so they can see Santa and tell them what they want which makes them extraordinarily happy which is the whole reason we have Sights and Sounds. Also, I remember when I was a child visiting…

If only there would have been more people volunteering, then so much more people could have been helped. And if more people can be help, then the suffering on earth can be ease. The big problem is that everyone is so busy with their personal life that they forget about the importance of helping others. A positive aspect I saw was that those who were already volunteering were really dedicated and kind hearted. I believe they are making a big impact on every person they touched and made it a task to spread their kindness.…
