PART ONE? What are your spiritual gifts? Do you agree with the results? Why are why not? We often wonder why we were created here on earth, what is our purpose. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “I chose you before you were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nation.” Therefore we didn’t choose our gifts God had already equipped us with our gift. After exploring the Spiritual Gifts Analysis my results shows that my spiritual gifts are showing mercy and evangelism. I agree that I have the gift of mercy because I am an individual that hurt when others hurt. I am one that is always showing compassion to those individuals that feel that no one else care. I remember going to work and walking in the break room and noticed a young lady sitting in the corner.

“God doesn’t called the equipped, he equip those he called.” I began to share that Moses killed an individual, Rehab was a prostitute, and Jonah ran from God, David had another women husband killed and God still got the glory out of their life. My second gift was evangelism. I don’t know if I really agree on evangelism and it may be because I don’t want to get out of my comfort zone. When viewing the charactericts of evangelism I do exemplify some of the qualifications. Evangelist is “one that preaching and teaches God’s word, one that tries to persuade someone to accept Christ, and one that has an influence to lead people beyond your natural sphere. For so many years I was a Jonah, one that God was calling to preach his word and to share my personal testimony but felt as though I wasn’t equipped for the task. God has taken me through storm after storm and I refuse to surrender to the call. I would share with individuals on a one on one basis but not to a large crowd. How might you misuse your gifts? Be specific. The gift of mercy can be used to lift someone else up. It can be used in times of death, birth, Sunday school teacher, becoming a counselor, usher, and hospitality. This gift can be used to encourage individual that has a disability or to single parents that has no hope. I remember times when my husband and I would take our three sons to the nursing home to visit elderly that never had any one to visit them. It brought so much joy when they would see little children come out to visit them. We must be very careful not to misuse our gift. One way we can misuse our gift, is if we know that a person is going through a difficult time and refuse to share your testimony of how God brought you through; you bury your gift. I am reminded of the story in Matthew 25 where the servant gave individual talents. Even though talents and gifts are different they are all given by God, it’s what we do with them that makes the different. We must be careful not to be like the one who he gave one talent. The servant didn’t share the gift that God had blessed him with; he buried it instead of using it to bring glory to his name. We must remember when we minister we are “To lead people into a relationship with the God who is worth it” (Earley & Gutierrez 2010 Chapter 7). Evangelism can be used by going around others that you have closeness with such as your family, co-workers, and
