Throughout the years, Gene and I have maintained contact through many victories and setbacks, yet my understanding of boundaries has developed and fortified. In the areas where I previously felt burdened and anxious over his wellbeing, I now recognize the extent of my influence and can accept my limitations and acknowledge Gene’s resilient ability to manage his own emotions.
