The only person I really felt comfortable talking and opening up to was my uncle. I would do as he told me, when I would have to explain to the girls and the other young gentleman what I was doing with the social media sites and any questions I had on the phone system even if I was scared to talk to them. Today, that has changed. I now go to lunch everyday with the two ladies and we frequently see each other outside of my internship as well. As I grew closer to them, it was a lot easier to read their nonverbals and I quickly realized from learning in class, the closer you are to someone the more you understand their nonverbals. Even more, I have realized it is a lot easier to picture how they are saying certain things over text or email by just knowing them better than I did before. The first day I received an email from jan and I thought she had a mean tone and quickly went to my uncle and got upset. Now knowing her, I understand she is very sarcastic and in that email, her words were sarcastic and not straightforward. After learning this and reading her emails she now sends, I realize that not everything she says is so serious. They would only email or talk to the girls up stairs via phone and then they would write notes about the conversations they had and send it down to pat or the other office. When I saw this at first I was too scared to say anything, but then things quickly became confusing between pat and the carriers and it would always end up he said, she said. Two weeks ago, we had our weekly meeting and as they brought up the carriers I raised my hand and explained what I thought about that communication process. I explained it is very confusing for everyone involved. Words don 't get transferred right through notes and the tone of the writing is hard to tell what they are saying or how they are saying it. I brought up the idea that they could Skype the carriers when they need to communicate or invite them to the weekly meetings to give them a chance to get real time communication instead of going through different people and causing a disaster. My uncle then asked me how Skype would be different then email or a phone call and I explained from my advanced social media class, that Skype will allow them to see the carriers and it will be the closest to real time communication if they couldn’t come to the meetings. This would limit people from transferring their words wrong, intending they are saying something a certain way, and they will be able to make eye contact. Further more,
