One of the discussion in we had was about, “How can you walk the talk if you have no talk to walk?” This question in in my mind since them. I have to be honest about my life and how I am leading my family, in order to you to understand my thoughts. I am a husband and father, my primordial and sacred calling as a leader is my home. I want to be a great influence to my family so that they can live the gospel, and my children can develop their own testimonies of the Church, of The Book of Mormon and of the Savior Jesus Christ. This question made me think If truly walking the talk I’m giving them. Or if I’m not doing the things I believe is true is as if I have no talk. I believe that they I lead my family is a model of how I will lead people in business or church. However, I’m not being the leader I should be for them that I used to be. People can only speak the truth when speaking in their own true voice. As father concerned about the future of my children, this question helped me to poder deeply about what I should chance and do to show them that I really stand for my values and that my values can be their values. One of the most important principles about communication that I learned reading the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective family, which applicable to any setting, it is the principle of “deposit” in someone 's bank account. Everyone has “deposit account”, this is the way “each person needs to be loved in his or her special way.” More important than words that we can be said, is the communication through acts. When we act to serve others we demonstrate our love and we communicate in the language of love. But the principle of deposit account teaches that to make deposits in loved one 's account we need to understand the things we must do make deposits in the unique account. This principles made me ponder and ask myself: what am I doing to make deposits in my family’s and other people account? As a leader I want develop a clear communication that will allow me to make those deposits. A good leader does not goes after their led, but he goes in front pushing them and showing them what to do and how to do. I know that we communicate with words, however part of clear communication is what I communicate through my acts. That is what matters most. Additionally, clear communication will promote discipline, accountability and strategic alignment. Remembering that it is always a two-way process.
