My objective is to help my students reach their god-given full potential. I will spark the minds of my students... with a fun and exciting learning environment. I will create emphasis on a safe and warm atmosphere by treating each student equally and with respect. I see my students working side by side, rather than all for themselves. My students will experience great pleasure in discovering new and exciting things; taking pride in their work. I hope to pass on to my students a love and desire to learn. My core values for my classroom are simple, yet efficient; integrity, respect, responsibility, and care. As a teacher, I take sole responsibility in making sure I carryout my lesson plans properly and effectively. I see myself professionally …show more content…
I believe that each child should embrace their individuality, organically. I believe nothing should be forced on a child that would hinder the development of their personality. By doing so, I hope to be a positive influence working with parents, staff and the community. I encourage singing in the classroom, not only as a way to practice memorization by repetition, but also as a way to bring the classroom together and feel as a whole, which brings up my next point; living with others. I want my students to feel comfortable with each other, by emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong bonds/ relationships. Exploration in learning is “...because learning begins when consciousness erupts, education must also,” as told by Froebel. Like Dewey, I believe that education and life are interrelated, not separate. When I first applied for a Teacher position at a Licensed Child Care site, I was told that I did not have enough ECE/CD units for the position, so I became an Aide instead. In my recent searches for work in this field, I’ve found that a lot of Licensed Child Care sites will require at least 12 units. Because of that, it has been my short-term goal to take at least three to four courses in ECE/CD that will allow me to qualify for certain Teacher positions. I plan on using my work experiences while attending school, to allow me to apply myself when I start building my
