For many years I have been interested in studying project management and gaining greater insight on business operations key functions. I find initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects absolutely fascinating. While, much of my professional experience has been in the nonprofit arena, I have learned a tremendous amount about business, and I gained some useful exposure to the world of marketing and finance. As an employee at Family-Compass over the past 4 years, I have had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from people with varied backgrounds. Though, this is a sharp contrast from the business world, my academic and work experience has allowed me to greatly enhance my communication and interpersonal skills. I’ve also had the opportunity to serve in the community while networking and building relationships. However, I recognize my leadership and strategic thinking skills as opportunities for growth. Obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration will equip me with the management tools necessary to compete in the global market. More companies are relying on skilled and trained professionals to manage their companies and make tough business decisions.
