Personal Statement Of Purpose To Attend George Mason University

Decent Essays
At the time I graduated high school, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for a future career or what I wanted to major in. Along with having anxiety, it made it harder for me to pick majors I liked, because I was afraid that with my anxiety I wouldn't be able to succeed in my career/major choices. Since then I've been able to explore my interests at my previous universities. I also have gotten the chance to meet people, who challenge my thinking, Like Senator Sanders. Which eventually led to the realization of my interest in politics. Because I didn't know what I know now about what I like and don't like. I applied to schools that wouldn't really help me pursue my goals or give me the opportunities I needed. I think George Mason University would be a good fit for me because of it's location and the possibilities of internships because of it. I also like how diverse the university is compared to my previous ones. I've also found extra curriculars and other opportunities that the school has that I would like to participate in, that I may not have in other universities. I'm also interested in the Government and International Politics program and the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics concentration, which i've found in only a small amount of universities. Overall with what I currently know of the university. …show more content…

My aunt is coming home from work every weekend, so most of my weekdays after school I spend it at home alone and the only thing I have is my computer.…

I am interested in joining Georgetown University for two main reasons. Firstly, Georgetown University offers me the freedom of choice and guidance in choosing my major. Back in Madagascar, students have little or no choice over their future, as all the learning is already packaged with a strict manual to follow. Teachers and school officials offer the material on a plate and provide no additional support unless externally paid for. As a result, despite having good grades, students often ended up lacking crucial skills such as a global perspective and a sense of purpose when transitioning to the professional world.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…
