From the idealist website, I learned about the opening for the Program Associate at Seattle office. I am very interested in this position and submit my application with great enthusiasm. As a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in Environmental Studies, I am confident my educational background and professional experiences can contribute to the Tibetan Nuns Project.
You indicate that a requirement for this position is an experience in an administrative role. I served in the 2nd Infantry Division Headquarters two years as an administrative assistant. My primary duty was to assist the Division Command Sergeant Major including managing a database of gift donors, workflow, schedules, classified briefing documents, answering calls, and supporting general office functions. Working both independently and interdependently, I performed other functions outside of the office including simultaneous interpretation (English & Korean), communications liaison, logistical operations support, and regional reconnaissance. Working in the Army cultivated me with leadership, respect, duty, and selfless service, but more importantly, I learned to pursue a goal assiduously even under pressure and to never give up until the mission is accomplished. …show more content…
Environmental, social, and economic problems are inherently interconnected, requiring a holistic approach that comprehensively addresses the issues. Both public policy implementation and grassroots movements are necessary to induce meaningful social changes. Therefore, I am eager to expand my professional experience in the public sector to develop expertise in both non-profit organizations and government
