Every living soul has some philosophy on which it builds its life and its values. “You treat a disease you win you lose, You treat a person, I guarantee you win no matter the outcome” verbalizes my philosophy of life. The imagination of treating the ailing persons has charmed me since my childhood. As a child I was always fascinated by my father, who used to be the only doctor in countryside of Punjab, a province of Pakistan. My father’s dedication to his patients and his hardworking nature intrigued me throughout my childhood and adolescence. And, when I used to ask him about his tremendous dedication towards patients who sometimes cannot even pay back, I remember his words “True happiness is achieved when you relieve the suffering of humanity, …show more content…
Keeping all my personal and clinical experience in mind, I believe that ‘Internal Medicine’ is the right choice for me. I have always tried to make use of my inborn abilities for the benefit of others and Internal Medicine provides me an excellent platform for this purpose. Some of the applauding aspects of Internal Medicine are the opportunities for close patient contact and compendious care that it provides. It also enables a physician to be entrusted with expectations and agony of patients. So, I take myself as a modest pupil of this respectable profession, who is always eager to learn. Furthermore, I believe in innovation and evolution and in my view; only an open mind willing to accept new abstraction can lead to intellectual evolution. This is the reason I always prefer to work as a team member to play my role in the quest of knowledge. My clinical exposure in United States and Pakistan has furbished my clinical and diagnostic skills. My participation in research projects has also broadened my approach towards field of medicine.
