Statement of Goals
I never really thought about going to graduate school ever in my life. There was even a time when I thought I would not even be able to get my Bachelor’s degree, so going to get my masters was a late decision. I was fortunate to graduate a double major and minor from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for my undergrad in May. I majored in Political Science and Public Administration with an emphasis in policy and management studies. I also squeezed in a business administration minor, which was quite a challenge to juggle.
The reason I want to get my graduate degree is pretty simple. In the beginning of my final semester at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, I really became inspired by some things one of my favorite Professors told me. He initially asked me if I planned on attending grad school. With no to little hesitation I said, “no”. It had never crossed my mind, plain and simple. After receiving my master’s, my Fiancée/soon-to-be wife and I plan on moving to Illinois to get closer to family. Getting my graduate degree will make that a lot simpler for me and my future kids to plant our roots somewhere for a long time. I would love to work and run a department and if all goes well, I dream of being a city planner or city manager. In all of my internships I have seen how great local government is and the many facets to how a city is ran. I have a strong passion for this field and I would love to continue my education, so it can make it a little easier to live my
