Personal Statement: Never Give Up To College

Decent Essays
The situations set before us aren't there to destroy; they are there to test us, and make us stronger than we ever thought imaginable. Growing up I had to remind myself of this, and now as I'm getting ready to start college I realized just how true it really is. If a problem seems to be unsolvable, try a different approach, never give up. If all else fails, start over, the next go around you'll have a stronger foundation. As long as you remember to never give up on your dreams, you can shoot above and beyond anything imaginable. This is why I love the idea of the American Honors Program, it reminds students that the possibilities truly are endless, and that is exactly what I need to achieve all of my dreams. Regardless of who you are

I would definitely describe myself as someone who is always willing to try new things, including eating strange types of food, chewing on a “tongue numbing” plant at the Arboretum, and licking the bottom of daddy longlegs to see if it tastes like peppermint. Signing up for Orion was opening up the door to a new challenge that I have never experienced before. I have never gone hiking, let alone backpacking, nevertheless I gave the experience my all and what I got back from it was exponential. When faxing those final forms for this trip, I did not realize the amount of teamwork that would go into this experience.…
