For as long as I can remember I have always loved sports. Most children are naturally playful, but for me, my desire to be active stretched well pass my childhood years. In elementary school I was a part of a little league baseball team, in middle school I ran track, and in high school I became an even more diverse athlete by joining the baseball, basketball, and soccer teams. It was during that time when I realized my passion for sports medicine. I have always been fascinated with the human body and its complexities. However, it wasn’t until I fractured my ankle in the final soccer playoff game before the state championship that my passion was ignited. I was unfamiliar with the process of choosing the order of courses that would transition me to graduation. As a result, I took several non-required courses, and I even took some of the needed courses, for my degree, out of order. Needless to say, I hit an academic wall that lasted five long semesters. It would have been easier for me to change majors for the sake of graduation, but being in such a predicament only sharpened my perseverance and molded my determination. While these academic complications seemed unbearable at the time, my senior year turned out to be my most challenging year. Not only did I have a tough academic load and the anticipation of graduation, I also had to overcome the tragic loss of my sister, who was killed in a mass shooting led by a well-known terrorist organization. I found it inexpressibly tough to continue with school after experiencing this tragedy; nevertheless, I managed to find a new resilience and motivation to continue to pursue my dream. Now I am more devoted than ever

My Interest in the medical field all began when I was a young girl, growing up I always was fascinated by science and the human anatomy, and how each complex system made this one being. In school, I struggled with subjects such as reading and writing, but when it came to math and science it became a second language, figured it was mostly because of my curiosity and for passion learning, but what influenced me the most as a child was my mother. My mother is a Social Worker and she has to help and support people on daily bases and by watching her example giving to people out of the kindness of her heart back into the community, made me want to do the same and growing up in Christian home I was told that “God gives us gifts and talents so we can help and support his people,” and so I thought what better way to serve people then becoming a doctor; with these skills and…
