I unfolded my passion for social justice ever since I started high school. I became part of the Mecha club at PCC to learn about ways to support the Latino community and students. My ultimate goal, to close the gap of inequality that exists in the school systems. I don’t see myself stopping at any point until I accomplish this goal. I want people to be treated equally and receive equal education. In my Intro to Social Work class I learned that private schools often receive better resources and more funding for better classes than the public schools. In the society that we live in those who can afford and go to private schools are the sons and daughters of wealthy and powerful people. The people attending the public schools are mostly minorities.
