I believe that if a person is responsible, not only will it bring him or her success, but it will also bring success to others around him or her. I did not come to this idea by myself, I had a great deal of guidance from one of my favorite people in the world, my mother, Kim Perras. Over the course of my life, my mother has taught me through example and advice, that my responsibilities do not only affect me, but they also affect the people that are counting on me, whether that be on the athletic fields or in church, people will always be relying on me. This is why, over the course of my short life, responsibility has become my strongest core belief because of the importance it holds.

Kim Perras is signed up for more positions than I can even count, and that is not counting work. She is not only a part of Altar Guild at our church, but also is the flower chairman for our church. She is also in charge of pre-game meals for lacrosse, as well as teacher Lunch-ins at Strake Jesuit. This is all on top of working as a nurse practitioner. Needless to say, Kim Perras has an extraordinary amount of responsibility, and with this comes a countless amount of people counting on her everyday to finish tasks. My mother also has to take care of four kids that go to three different high schools. I can not comprehend how she does it, but she always finds a way to finish her tasks. She knows that there are many people counting on her, and she works as hard as she can to not let them down. This has served as a great example to me on how I should handle my responsibilities. I have learned to plan better, and work harder to handle my responsibilities because of my mother.
