Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.
Throughout my life, and the last four years especially, I have been given the opportunity to be a leader in many different situations. My first experience was being the president of my elementary school. While juvenile, it was an honor to serve and it influenced me to move on to bigger, more important positions as I grew up. Some of my favorites have been sports-related, as I have served as head cheer captain during two seasons and been a four-year instructor for a youth cheerleading team. In the classroom, I have student-taught for fifth grade and peer-taught for sophomores.

Ever since elementary school, I have always had a striking interest in science. It always fascinated me to learn how the world works, how our bodies function and how natural things happen. I believe it has interested me the most because it has felt like the most practical material I have learned. While I recognize the benefits of being educated in math and history, I have never found them to be as useful as science.
Seventh grade life science really spoke to me as something meaningful to me that I knew I would want to expand my knowledge in. By the next year, I had narrowed in on what field of science I wanted to pursue as a career path. I found a way to combine all my passions into one discipline which was sports medicine.
