As long as I remember I always wanted to study in university and graduate, like all my friends did. Unfortunately due to some complicated restrictions I was facing by government because of my religious beliefs, I wasn’t able to study in my own country, therefore with the support of my family I moved to the United States to go to college. From the time I moved here I was facing many challenges that life throw at me to stop me from getting closer to my goals and dreams. In the book called “On Course” the author provides strategies to create success in college and in life. In the beginning I thought this course is just like any other course all I a need to do is, to finish the homeworks on time, so I can pass, however after two sessions I notes I am wrong in fact I been wrong the whole time. Now I know why some of my friends were successful and I was not. My successful friend knew about this strategies and they applied them in their daily life and of course that was their key to their success. However I faced many problems due to: lack of creating a strong financial foundation, lack of knowledge to management my time, lack of discovering and developing myself-motivations, lack of understanding and accepting my personal responsibilities, and lack of developing my critical thinking. Having an opportunity to study the book “On Course” I have learned many new strategies in order to be successful in college and in life and finally It can help me to be a civil- engineer. One of the On Course Strategies I will definitely use in order to help me overcome my financial issue is to make my long term financial plan by applying for low-cost loans and find a better job that can help me to make more money. I had to change my bank about a month ago because I found another bank that has a lower interest rate. I also learned about my Inner voices up until I take this course I didn’t know about my Inner Critic, Inner Defender, and Inner Guide and how I can use my Inner Guide to come up with a solution in difficult situations. I can now understand the importance of the 32 days commitments list and how I can use that to keep track of my monthly performance, also to improve myself to dedicate more time for my commitments I make in order to achieve my goal.
