DéJa. I am a young lady, born in Southeast, a 17 year-old senior at Maya Angelou Public Charter School. I have been apart of the Maya family since the 8th grade. In hopes to become an Early Childhood Educator and cosmetologist. As a senior now at Maya Angelou, looking back I have so much to be grateful for. This loving community has created a space for me to overcome obstacles. Thanks to Maya and other programs, I have become an Achiever, young dedicated business woman, aspiring videographer/editor, and the manager of Lady Rebels. My experience has been full of surprises as well as disappointments. Dealing with several members of the Maya family leaving, I have learned that they still care about you whether they are here or not. Support goes
