Personal Statement: Long-Term Goals

Personal Mission Statement Striving for success is my motto. My long-term goal is to receive my bachelor’s degree of Chemistry in the year of 2019. In order to achieve that goal, I thought of a SMART goal which is to earn my bachelor’s degree at the age of 23 years old. I will speak to my counselors about my course schedule map to be on track. I will also speak to more people who are close to graduating about the the amount of time it took them to receive their chemistry degree. There are many resources and support on the Fresno State campus which can lead me to the pathway of success. The ARC (Advising and Resource Center) is committed to empowering CSM (College of Science and Mathematics) students to make reasonable and conscious decisions as they pertain to the pursuit of successful completion in a degree of science. I currently schedule appointments when needed and the academic counselors answer all of my questions and concerns. I also have close colleagues and friends who are science majors and remind me how much I have accomplished. We conduct study sessions together and encourage each other to accomplish our goals. Besides from studying persistently and earning my college credits, my long-term goal will require a realistic timeline that incorporates many short term goals. Some of the short term-goals I strive to accomplish before I graduate would be to have 100 volunteering hours. I will work in the science field and ask for a couple of letters of recommendation. Furthermore, I will apply for internships which will strengthen my resume and graduate school applications. All of these short-term goals should be accomplished within the time limit available which will help me earn my degree along the
