Personal Statement: Kindergarten Teacher

Have you ever had a dream that you wanted to purse but saw no way of getting there? This is where I am Mr. Timberlake, my family and friends want me to become a Kindergarten teacher. I went throughout my years of schooling convincing myself that I should and thoroughly would enjoy becoming a teacher. After fifty hours of observation in the public school system I realized that I would be content but not happy because I did not chase my dreams. My love for writing started when my friend Amy and I would write stories, act, and direct in the movies that we created. You see at the age of ten I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the only outlet I had was to write stories reliving the positive experiences that Amy and I used to create. Once I got healthy and I advanced to high school and college I started to write more often, and now that I graduated from college I created a reality TV show sales pitch that I want to show to MTV producers. Comparatively I envision every night what the show would entail, and how the introduction and commercial would appear as. Within this month, I plan on getting my idea copyrighted from the government. I emailed various Viacom staff members, including the Senior Director of Communications and Vice President of Communications among other workers. However, I did not receive a response. In my last semester of senior year at Ramapo College of New Jersey I read a book entitled, “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrnes, and I realized that one could have any life they want if they just believe in it. I gave up on my dreams a long time ago because I got discouraged. After telling my family and friends about my ideas, they said that I am just a “dreamer” and I should start thinking more “realistically”.
