As we reviewed the patient’s history, an overwhelming sensation flooded my senses. The patient was Dave, the father of my best friend DJ. Tirelessly I worked, ensuring that Dave received the most optimal care I could provide. When DJ and his sisters arrived, I immediately sought them out to comfort, console, and inform. It’s not easy telling someone that their loved one has had a severe accident, with a high risk of limb amputation. When it involves people you already love, it weighs even more on your heart. Nevertheless, Dave and his family needed help, and my work became imperative. This moment …show more content…
One of the aspects of being a PA which appeals to me personally is the ability to explain medicine in lay terms and thereby engaging individuals more effectively in their own care. Another is the ability to be there for those who have no one else and provide them with compassion and empathy. Fortunately, my time spent learning about and working on cars is not without use, as through automotive repair I have learned to employ a systematic and analytical diagnostic …show more content…
I hope to be a well-rounded provider someday and being able to draw on a large knowledge base to aid patients in understanding and becoming active participants in their care. One of the residents I work with recently asked me “Why do patients like me more than him?” I answered that for one I always enter the room with a smile and introduce myself, secondly, when I am doing painful procedures to a patient I take the time to inform them as to what we are doing and why it is important we do

When it comes to understanding yourself and your personality on a deeper level than normally, you must take personal stories into perspective that have shaped your life while growing up. According to McAdams, “defining oneself through a personal story is an act of psychological and social responsibility” (Engler 2009). Viewing the past four essays shows the progress and decline of my writing style, and structure. The four essays that were required by the class varied from the best to the worst, both having their similarities and differences. Choosing two out of the four essays, I came to a conclusion that the “process analysis” essay was the best, and the worst essay was the “descriptive” essay. Although it varied from their definitions and structure, the essay’s showed how much the writer, put their work into it. The certain characteristics that made it the worst to the best defined how well the essay would turn out to be.…

My Road to Reading and Writing As Mark Twain said, “The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read”. Many people today don’t take up reading or writing as a hobby. A lot of people would not even read a book for entertainment or to expand their knowledge and the most they write is a post on social media. In my opinion, most people know how to read but chose not to because they are uninterested or unwilling which causes them no to be as proficient in writing.…
