Unknown Title I have changed and grown as a learner over my past four years here at Blackfoot High School in a positive way. During my first two years of school I was a terrible student and learner. I never really cared about the assignments that were given to me. I always feel asleep in class, and I did not realize that what I was doing then would affect me now a few years later and how hard it would before me to raise my GPA.…
Choosing a university that fills all of my needs was a nerve wrecking yet exciting task. Northwestern emerged as the best choice for me. After reading the information pamphlet, and researching the college website, I realized that Northwestern College offers what I want to gain from my college experience. For many years, I have wanted to be in the nursing field. In addition, the Northwestern College stands out for me in the field.…
Middle school can be an odd and rough time for kids, as they change from being sheltered youth to responsible young adults. I failed miserably at handling that transition. The classes taught in middle school were supposed to be easy, especially now that I look in retrospect. Yet, I regularly brought home B’s and low A’s, at best, on my report card. I had barely challenged myself in middle school, if at all.…
I believe that I am an excellent candidate for the Early College program. For me, school is a top priority, and I always strive to be my best. Whenever I set my focus on a task, I will put 100% effort into it until I am satisfied with the result. I am not nervous to talk to adults or teachers, and address any questions I have about the course. To be at college at such a young age demands hard work and dedication, which I am ready to put forth.…
The Grades Challenge Freshman year was a difficult year for my grades. I was failing a few classes and it seemed like the harder I focused on the percentage, the farther I got away from it. I talked to my teachers about how I could try to get my grades up and was simply told “you won’t get a better grade.” I was stuck with what I had is what I was told, and they ended up being right about that year. I was worried that maybe something was wrong; maybe I wasn’t as smart as I used to be.…
Leaving elementary and entering junior high can be tough for everyone. There are several things that can make this transition easier. The first being organization, next good study habits, and the interaction with other classmates. Understanding these three things will make middle school a better place. I survived, you can too.…
I was an average middle schooler: average in sports, academics, and in confidence. Being average caused me to doubt my abilities and have a negative view of myself. This took a turn, however, when I tested into Algebra a year early during the beginning of eighth grade. When this happened, I felt above average, like I was finally excelling at something. This didn’t last long because Algebra was a tough class that tested my abilities and my mind to their capacity.…

What are some changes that have occurred in you from fifth to sixth grade? From fifth to sixth grade both positive and negative changes have occurred to me. Since I have moved from fifth to sixth grade I have become more responsible, had some positive and negative effects with friends, and even had some changes at home. Since sixth grade has started, I have become more responsible and had more responsibilities.…
Dear 6th grader, Hi! I’m sure some of the other 6th graders have met me, so I here to tell you you will have fun in 6th grade, but I'm not saying there won't be times you will hate it,but it will be fine. 6th grade is a cool grade to be in, but it is also harder. When you are mad I advise to talk it out or use it to beat other people in gym. It is going to be a fun 6th grade year.…
The years we spend in high school are one of the toughest, most memorable, and important years in our life. We get to overcome our fears and learn a lot about ourselves. There are many challenges we face. For example, seeking the approval of our peers, worrying about college, sports, extracurricular activities, our GPA, and finding a part time job for some students. The challenges that I want to overcome this year is catching up with prior knowledge that students already learned, procrastination and my attendance.…
The beginning of my first semester at the University of Akron, has been a complete roller coaster. I have made friends, lost friends, dropped classes and of course, slept through classes. Being five hours away from my home in South Bend, Indiana has affected me more than I thought it would. I came into college thinking that I would make a ton of friends, get excellent grades and maybe even go to a few parties. I did not think that I would be close to almost dropping out of college as a whole.…
School life has changed me in many ways. Whether it be the expectations of school or what actions happen in school everyday. A lot of us teenagers tend to get very distracted, and we always want to be accepted. Sometimes we try to hard to be liked and that can lead to bad pathways. The bad habits that take place in school have changed me and also the good things.…
There are numerous goals that I would like to set and achieve in the upcoming year. I set both school and personal goals. I also set academic and character goals. I hope that I can achieve all of my goals to be the best student and person I can be. The goals I set can change my life and future, so I hope that I can accomplish all of them.…
My educational journey begins The beginning of my education starts through elementary, middle school, and high school. In the beginning of kindergarten I was a very shy and scared little girl, I did talk to anyone in my class the first day. I didn’t know what was going on most of the time in class but this kept me from learning because I didn’t ask many questions or ask the teacher for help.…
